A Debtors Responsibility when in a Debt Management Program

  • Provide complete and accurate creditor information to the agency, including: name, address, account number, balance, type of debt and statements.
  • Provide accurate and complete information on personal income, household and other expenses.
  • Communicate with the agency regarding any correspondence or information received from creditors.
  • Remove credit insurance on all accounts.
  • Make payments on time and in full each month.
  • Monitor monthly statements to ensure that the creditor is applying program benefits, including: reducing interest rates, stopping penalty fees and bringing accounts back to "current" status.
  • Notify agency of any changes, including if an account has been paid off.
